If there is a combination that lights me up, it’s beef and noodles. Yes, ma’am, yes ma’am.
I cannot get enough of it, truly. Add a fresh veggie and some homemade bread – SOLD. Who’s with me??
WHAT IS IN BEEF STROGANOFF?
Beef strroganoff obviously includes beef with soft mushrooms and onions in a hearty smooth gravy over top of a beautiful starch, either pasta or potatoes. This dish brings a sense of home when you taste it.
WHAT DO I MAKE BEEF STROGANOFF WITH?
Really anything! But since it is such a large meal I prefer to have a nice spinach salad with a vinegar dressing on the side with a loaf of bread. YUM!

TIPS FOR MAKING BEEF STROGANOFF:
- Cook your beef first and all the way through. This will add a beef taste to the pan to coat the mushrooms and onions in making it so delicious!
- Chop your onions small so they are not as large when you go to eat them. You could also do slivers if you prefer!
- Use a piece of beef that has more fat to it, or cut the beef into smaller pieces to be able to chew better.
HOW THICK SHOULD I MAKE THE STROGANOFF?
It depends on your preference. I like a mixture between thin and thick (I know, redundant right?). I want it thick enough to not be able to slide off my plate, but thin enough that it isn’t the consistency of breakfast gravy. The amount of arrowroot powder or conrstarch added will determine how thick.
WHY YOU WILL LOVE THIS RECIPE:
- It’s a super easy meal to make with just a little bit of prep.
- You can make it a super hearty meal for the winter and add a bunch more vegetable to it, or it can be made in the summer with a thinner consistency over pasta. Delicious either way!
- It has a ton of nutrition to it with the beef, vegetables, and bone broth and especially with homemade pasta or potatoes.
