A beef roast is such an easy meal to make and perfect for the crazy busy nights of the week. You just throw everything into a crockpot with some bone broth, and in a few hours you have a meal all ready to go and serve to your family. Cool, right?!
IS THERE A CERTAIN WAY TO ASSEMBLE A BEEF ROAST?
No, but yes! There is a certain way I do things the way I assemble the beef roast to help the veggies become a soft, beautiful texture to enjoy because I have ahd roast with veggies that are not fully cooked. How I assemble it is from the bottom up: fat, veggies, onion, garlic, beef, onions, and bone broth filled up over top of beef.
WHAT DO YOU COOK A BEEF ROAST IN?
You usually cook a beef roast in a crockpot, but you can also do it in an instant pot for a shorter amount of time!

TIPS FOR MAKING BEEF ROAST:
- Put a little bit of fat on the bottom of the crock pot just to add some flavor and make sure nothing sticks.
- Use homemade bone broth instead of water if you can. It adds so much more flavor and nutrition to your meal.
- Add whatever veggies you want to this roast for added nutriton and quantity to your meal.
WHAT SIDES TO MAKE WITH A BEEF ROAST?
The options are endless! You can make mashed potatoes, fried potatoes, rice, pasta, along with a salad, cooked veggies, etc. But

SUPPLIES YOU WILL NEED:
INGREDIENTS YOU WILL NEED:
1 Tbsp Butter
Large onion, sliced
Head of Garlic
6 carrots, cut to your preference
4 Celery stalks, cut to your preference
OPTIONAL ADD-INS:
Peas
Corn
Brussels
Broccoli
HOW TO MAKE A BEEF ROAST:
- Put a little fat (butter, lard, or tallow) on the bottom of the crock. Heat up medium sized cast iron skillet on medium-low heat for 5 minutes.
- After the skillet is heated, add butter to the cast iron and cover the whole pan. Salt and pepper the beef on both sides. Sear beef on all sides for a couple of minutes each side. Set aside.
- Chop carrots, celery, and potatoes into a size you prefer.
- Add the carrots, celery, and potatoes to the bottom. Add half the sliced onions on top of the veggies.
- Next place the beef on top and add the other half of the onions on top of the beef and the whole garlic cloves.
- After, pour in bone broth up until just above the meat.
- Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours.
- Serve as is or with pasta, mashed potatoes, or a side you prefer! Enjoy!
